We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Analyst to lead and drive analytical insights, business process improvements, and data-driven decisions across our asset and logistics teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of transportation management systems (TMW), strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to diverse stakeholders. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to influence business decisions at the highest levels. This person will have leadership experience of in a professional setting and have a proven record of influencing and working cross departmentally.
In the Business Analyst role you will:
- Create and communicate investment proposals and project proposals that meet business needs
- Coordinate and facilitate with subject matter experts and system resources to ensure complete and thorough understanding of business problem or opportunity that will be solved with the project
- Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to IT developers
- Ensure project roles, responsibilities and expectations are defined and adhered to through project
- Manage the performance of a project by tracking deliverables, timeline performance, cost performance, change requests, project issues and project risks
- Communicate the objectives and status of projects to the relevant stakeholders during the life of a project, including project plans, status updates, and timelines
- Support change management efforts related to the delivery of projects
- Develop user test plans and participate in meeting system testing goals
- Build relationships with business partners to uncover opportunities and offer technical solutions to optimize future business needs
- Lead and support change management efforts for new transportation strategies, processes, and technologies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within the transportation team.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant technologies to enhance operational capabilities.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to propose innovative solutions that enhance transportation efficiency.
- Act as a key liaison between the transportation team and other business units (e.g., supply chain, IT, finance) to ensure alignment on goals, projects, and priorities.
- Use business analysis techniques to streamline transportation processes and recommend improvements for cost efficiency, scalability, and overall performance.
- Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing service levels, reducing operational costs, and improving delivery timelines.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of process improvements and ensure the alignment of transportation strategies with broader organizational goals.
What job qualifications do you need to bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or Business Management is preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional project management experience or operations-based systems implementation.
- Transportation experience is required
- Leadership experience of professional employees is required
- Proven experience leading mid-sized to large software or operational implementation projects.
- Ability to develop strong relationships across the company.
- Proven experience demonstrating a collaborative mindset.
- Critical thinking skills used to identify business needs, learn business processes, and solve problems.
